Flute players and Kokopelli
Flute players were depicted in rock art throughout the region during the basket maker era. This flute player was associated with fertility, spring and rain. The earliest images were similar to this:
Later, they Hopi culture added a hump back to the flute player and called him Kokopelli. He has continued to represent rain, spring, renewal, and fertility.
